16-19 Tuition Fund

The purpose of this statement is to set out how Rotherham Opportunities College will utilise the 16-19 Tuition Fund in 2021-22. The fund is allocated to colleges to ease the impact on learning, progress and achievement arising from COVID-19.

The funding will be used to support students on Study Programmes, aged 19-25, with Education, Health and Care Plans.  Students have been prioritised based on the following criteria:

  • Students who have not yet achieved level 4 in English and maths
  • Students who require interventions to support interactions with peers

The 16-19 Tuition Fund will be used to provide direct tuition that is additional to the tuition received in the planned Programme of Study for 2021-22.  The additional tuition will be delivered on a one-to-one basis or in small groups of up to 3 students. A range of interventions will be provided to support students recover lost skills, behaviours and confidence including interactions with peers.

Support takes account of the needs of students as well as their circumstances and is based on an assessment of the impact of lockdown on their learning and progress.
